You mentioned Africans in context of evolution (greater amount of melanin).Just one thought of mine: it has been said that the first humans (from wich we derived; modern humans - the specie) are from the continent of Africa (nearer to Madagascar) - which is logical - because most species of primates are in Africa, but, actually I think that it's missleading to think that they looked like today's Africans. Modern humans (specie) came to Europe and Asia tens of thousands of years ago - it was ice age back then, and I doubt there was that much sunlight at the equator back then - so they were most probably white of skin and covered with a lot of hair...(I've seen some reconstruction of events (colonisation of Europe by modern humans) proposed by the "scientists" involved in creation of that show - it showed modern humans (typical Africans of today; very black skin) - hunters - aproaching the native humans of Europe back then (neanderthals); back then I didn't notice "the small question of near ice-age vs. skin color" problem, but now it seems obvious)
