Illegal Beings: Human Clones

But is his heart faithful?

david ( 05/26/2005, 03:26:00 )

My best friend is like that. He's been married to the same woman for 15 years, but he's been cheating on her constantly.About five years ago, they finally split up. The man was miserable, but continued to sleep around. The woman was miserable, but she did not sleep around. After 10 months they got back together again. He still cheats, but they seem to both be happy. The woman has learned to live with his cheating, because he always goes home to her and she really loves him. As cliched as it sounds, I guess she just couldn't live without him. And I know he sincerely loves her too, because I can see it. I guess he's just one of those prairie voles who is genetically inclined to fool around.I don't want to be morally blind about their case, but looking at it objectively, what's wrong with a little fooling around if they're both still in love (who's to say they're not? they may have evolved beyond contemporary mores)and happy with each other. I guess you could call it a one-sided open marriage.I believe that if you marry someone, it should be because of who that person it, not who you think you can turn him into. Perhaps the four previous wives of your dad tried to do this, but he just couldn't change his stripes. I don't think it automatically means he didn't love them, maybe in his own way.Perhaps the bottom line is, he may be cheating with his tool but his heart has always been faithful.Hmmm I can already anticipate all kinds of flak out there from this post, but hey, different strokes for different folks.Peace y'all
