Re: Nature vs Nurturelibfemme ( 05/28/2004, 07:25:53 )I believe in acting "as if" it were all environmentally determined to begin with. You never know what can be achieved with the right attitude. However, if you're not getting the response you expect, step back and consider it may not be that you are doing something wrong but that the situation is biological.Mom's take the rap for a lot of their children's misbehavior. In order to avoid shame upon her peers, mom's will push even harder on their recalcitrant offspring to shape up in some way or another. Now the problem is, there really are environmentally caused problems too. How can you tell the difference? It is not easy. But reflexively blaming someone for a problem or excusing any behavior under the sun are both equally simplistic answers. We need to learn a lot more about what behaviors in humans are innate and which ones are learned. We need to better understand ourselves, and give ourselves a little slack some times.Sometimes when you argue with someone they just don't get your point. Ok. Maybe they are incapable of seeing it your way. At least I believe that. If I have presented an argument as well as I can and get no response, I just step away from it. ![]() This Message is being posted for educational purposes, as well as for comment and criticism, by the visitors to the HumanCloning.org Foundation website (www.HumanCloning.org ).
