Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: Cloning - Can it reverse life ?

john the angry man ( 11/19/2004, 18:02:21 )

Shut up and buy a spellchecker.Religious and Government coalitions? Oh dear. And just to let off steam about the state of this place...I thought this forum had the "liveliest discussions" Instead there's about 6 regulars, including Darb and myself. How pathetic. To make it worse, most are irritating and obnoxious, one is an idiot, one can't spell, and I only like one person here. Is this the main site for pro-cloning? It gives it a bad name. The message board is ugly beyond belief, unlike the PCGF forum for example, URL further down. The presentation is also pretty naff, to be honest. Take all this as constructive criticism! This forum is supposed to be for debating as well as discussion. Yet, when someone against cloning turns up they are told to piss off as this forum is for pro-cloners only. Eh? I'll admit, most of the anti-clones are ridiculously prejudiced, but the guys who... "feel nuffing is wrong about cloning, I want 2 be cloned!!!11!! " ...Make up for it, I feel. And just to clarify on my stance to cloning, (like anyone cares) I think that stem-cell research looks like it has real potential to cure diseases which are untreatable as of now. But cloning people fully... It's not wise. It could get into the wrong hands - did you know that Joseph Mengele (spelling?), a Nazi scientist called "The Angel of Death" (for good reason), was trying to clone Hitler? Ulp. Also if a mother loses her 12 year old son in a car crash, for example, some here seem to think that it is OK for the boy to be cloned, just to bring back the mother her son? How selfish. The mum, I'm sure, would be grieving pretty badly but that doesn't warrant making a new kid who looks just like lil' Jimmy, just to fill the hole that the death made. It would be pretty horrible for the clone as well, being made to be someone he isn't - that's if he didn't die within 2 weeks. Many cloned animals have had severe mutations or have just died soon after being cloned. For infertile couples however, I can understand this. My own parents were told, If remember rightly, that they couldn't have children. My sister and myself seem to prove that wrong, heh.So if IFV and the like doesn't work for them, and this idea that you could take half the chromosomes for the male and half from the female, like normal sex (I think) can work, then hey, why not.I'll stop now, I'm tired.
