My personal life observations on "freedom of speech" --- as well as many of the purported "freedoms" under democracy --- is that quite often they are subtlely forfeited when we must yield to the greater immediate needs of having to have "x" amount of dollars coming in.

Hardly any of us in our world today can do entirely without money.

But debt heightens this temptation for us to "shut up" and say whatever pleases the powers that be, rather than to speak our own minds, or speculate our own thoughts about things, rather than the convenient "prescribed" thinking that is dished out to us, from here and there.

So we say that we have freedom of speech, and yes we do.

But we also must realize that when we are in debt, we often must succomb to saying whatever keeps the money rolling in, and that true freedom of speech becomes more just an ideal, legend, or fairy-tale, than a reality.

And I hope that some people are reading this besides just people who have diabolical desires to steer and control society --- to their own lucrative ends or other personal agenda.
