The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller

    My favorite romance novel of all time.  Waller completely supends your disbelief; everything that happens in this novel is real.  It's written from a macho man's point of view so there is not the mushy drivel somtimes seen in romance novels.  It packs a powerful emotional wallop and is a book that is very, very, hard to put down.
