All we know is that when we accepted him, there was joy, love and the relieving of a pain no one could ever put into words or that could ever be captured by a normal human emotion. God is so great, and once you accept him and are in him, even the most absurd and farfetched principles delegated in the bible will make so much of an anonymous sense that you will NEVER turn away.
