Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: cloning in general

Melli ( 05/06/2003, 20:21:26 )

I'm nor sure whether cloning will be another kind of slavery. People in history and today made many mistakes and the human race today knows any kind of slavery. Probably there are enough persons on earth who want to make profit. Selling clones is a bad idea I think, because they ARE humans and we shouldn't treat them like slaves or animals. Therefore it'll be necessary to develope organisations ruling everything. It should be clear that people - cloned or not-cloned - belong to one race because we have the same kind of genome and the only differences between a "normal" human and us are the kind of origin and that today every human is an individual considering his genes (with exception of twins). Cloning is not cool - it might be a step forward towards curing diseases or plantation of lost organs. It shouldn't be a moethod to enlarge the number of your friends or to less your work in the household. Cloning is very serious and we may not underestimate this theme. Thus, I mostly agree with Emily's opinion. Please write again to discuss the theme a little more.
