anticloning123 ( 06/18/2003, 06:54:35 )i look at this site and see a bunch of wishfull thinkers, people who are not educated enough in the facts of this matter to formulate a valid opinion. i myself am agaisnt cloning, but that is not the point. the point is that cloning could cause the destruction of our people and our way of life. cloning has the potential to cure illness and take the sadest stories in our society and rewrite them to be happy. but one has to ask at what cost? is it right to make one suffer for the benifet of another? is it right to choose which humans get to be born and which dont because of their differences. i have a brother that is autistic, and the very idea of parents being able to look at a group of their fertilized embryos and get to choose if the one with down syndrome or the normal lives is truely horrifying. and thats not even the biggest problem. oh sure clonig may start out innocent enough but after a few hundred years of widespread use we may live in a world were our diversity has vanished. you people fall to see the long term effect of this practice. and for those that feel eternal life will be reached through human cloning you got to realize that even if someone has your mind and memories, it wont be you, it will be some creature in your likeness, we will never truely live forever.
