Illegal Beings: Human Clones

What are you thinking?!?!?

TyTy2006 ( 06/15/2003, 08:49:08 )

That's exactly what we're doing! In the process of cloning, you are killing an innocent person; not fully or even close to fully matured, but still a human. Plus, who knows who you're killing. What if cloning had been invented in the past and one "unimportant embreyo" named Albert Einstein had been used. We wouldn't know half of what we now know in Science and technology. What if one of the embreyos ended up being the person that would've cured cancer, or AIDS, or even the common cold. If the point that killing helpless lives isn't enough for one to grasp, remember that you don't know what you're changing by not letting them live; you'll never know the benefits they could have brought into this world, but you might always wonder. And you had a good point that mankind hasn't done always the greatest things, but look at all of the good we're doing too. Without using cloning we are finding various treatments of illnesses. We have also created peaceful societies and there are many good, no, many great people out there trying to save the rainforests and get rid of evils such as racism and prejudices. I think when people try to get a point across they don't always give information about both sides. You're entirely right that mankind has done a lot of bad, but it's done so much good too. Remember that. Also, you wish that we kill a few embreyos for the good of mankind. That entire statement is contradictory. This is because to kill someone (especially a helpless embreyo) is an act of barbaricism. Instead of of helping mankind, you would instead making mankind worse. You would be promoting a moraless society in which people killed at free-will and felt no remorse. And remember, once you start, it's EXTRODINARILY hard to stop.
