Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: Tragedy in the making...?

Patrick ( 08/18/2003, 02:10:13 )

OH! my dear Erin. I dare say i have no puppies. Hmm. Yes. And yes, if one were to ask me, i would say that microbes, germs, pathogens or whatever indeed have more of a right to be here. They were here first and they will be here far longer than we might last. Do you have any idea how utterly dependent we are on microbes, bacteria, and the like? The suggestion that we have a greater right to live illustrates one of humankind's most wretched traits... unmitigated arrogance. One of my most acute observations is that, as a whole, we humans are so totally convinced of our own superiority that we pay little if any attention to the damage we are doing to our planet, and then we mock and treat as a distraction those who seek to point out the transgressions of a fat, apathetic society. I have been repeatedly refered to as hippie, treehugger, green bean, and so forth, sometimes in mean spirit, in spite of the fact that i am not an environmentalist. I shudder to think what proper environmentalists must face. Anyway, all life on this planet is in no small part dependent on the microbes you right off so easily. How much of the life on this planet is dependent on humans for survival? So you tell me which is more important. (my guess is you'll say people because people are more important by default. but i bet you can't explain why ;) Cheers-----------------------------------Patrick
