For instance Great Britain is the US's greatest ally and has troops in Iraq but they are opposed to the US on the cloning ban issue. Likewise Japan has been supportive of the US in Iraq but opposes the US on cloning.The countries in favor of a ban of reproductive and theraputic cloning were:Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Costa Rica, Côte d’Ivoire, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gambia, Georgia, Grenada, Haiti, Honduras, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho, Madagascar, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Portugal, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Sierra Leone, Spain, Suriname, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, United States of America, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu and ZambiaThose countries who wanted did not want to ban theraputic cloning included:Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
