Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Fair Labeling

libfemme ( 10/12/2003, 08:40:03 )

Austraiia's got the right idea. They are requiring pharmaceutical manufacturers to label products that have been developed or tested with stem cells from human embryos. This will enable physicians and consumers to boycott those drugs if they have ethical objections to embryonic stem cells.Patients will be faced with a hard choice;whether to reject a drug on principle even though it may be the most effective treatment for their particular condition. In essense it puts stem cell research to a popular vote in the most honest way possible. Instead of voting on stem access for other people, patients will be faced with deciding on accepting or rejecting it for themselves alone.
