Re: Genes Cross Species Naturally

libfemme ( 10/12/2003, 03:02:01 )

What is your definition of unnatural?I see it you call natural everything that happens without man's intervention. And everything that is unnatural is everything that man does. Is that correct? Is breeding racehorses unnatural? Or breeding hunting dogs from wolves? Or the breeding of wheat from wild grass? Mankind has been breeding animals and plants for his use since before recorded history. He's not making these living things change. Living things change naturally. He's just putting certain genes in their paths instead of others. He is using the living things naturally tendencies. In genetic modification instead of introducing pollen from one plant to another, the researcher is introducing genes in a lab from one plant to another. He's doing it at a microscopic and more precise level.
