Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: cloning---a blessing or a curse

a blessing or a curse --- john the angry man ( 10/31/2003, 04:26:12 )

Personally I think it would be OK to have clones for infertile people, and I am for stem cell cloning, as it will cure many of our diseases. But, I don't like the idea of someone like Zavos to be cloning humans, and there are too many risks for a clone to be made at the moment, no matter how much the risks are exaggerated. Also, most of these pro-cloners are way too ambitious. Why someone would really want a cloned identical twin is beyond me. Apart from being a doner of non-vital organs, blood, etc., it just seems to me that the people who want a twin for their convenience need to get some friends, but I can't really judge them when I haven't met them. Also, some want immortality and other extravagant things through cloning. Fat chance that they'll happen anyway... Thanks for listening, John
