Illegal Beings: Human Clones

cloning---a blessing or a curse

a blessing or a curse --- jonesmaihk ( 10/30/2003, 05:07:58 )

Have you ever seen science fiction movies about cloning humans in the dim and distant past? Nowadays, cloning human is no longer only happening on movies or story book! This fantasy is coming true, some people are still against it. Those antagonists, including me, think that cloning humans contravenes human ethics. Meanwhile, some supporters¡¦ have a different perspective. Whether people should accept cloning has became a heated debate in the territory. One of the most important problems about cloning is ethics. By using the cloning technologies, scientists can clone lots of identical animals, even human-beings, and meanwhile it carries many questions too. Should we call those cloned ¡¥human¡¦ human? How to identify their father and mother? As the scientists, their gentic father or even they do not have parent? So far, it seems to me that no one can surely answer those ethics questions which are caused by cloning technologies. Moreover, it also is against by religious beliefs. It totally challenges the idea that God makes human. So, in order to maintain their beliefs. Many people think that the cloning is an evil technology,Apart from ethical problems, many people think cloning should not be allowed since its development is too fast. This technology is not perfect, it contains lots of dangers. We cannot depend on it, for instance, many doctors and scientists agree that the cloning technologies can be applied to medical treatment but meanwhile those they cannot guarantee the cloning do not have potential risk. Furthermore, it is also very easy to fail during the cloning process. So nowadays, many people still prefer to have traditional treatments rather then taking the risk of cloning treatments.Last but surely not least, psychological problems occur in a clone of your parent. Does it make sense to have an identical face to your parent? So, many people even think that to clone human is a foolish idea indeed. In conclusion, there is no evidence to suggest that cloning will not cause any problems whatever, but rather, it will carry lots of problems of human health, ethical, and psychological. So, up to now, many countries governments had already banned human cloning, for example, UK, Japan. From my point of view, I cannot see any advantages of cloning technology. I am strongly against this motion.
