Neptune ( 10/19/2003, 01:15:25 )I don't know the details of cloning, though my assumption is that eventually the science will be there to enable the creation of healthy babies. If this is true, what a joy this would be for women!1. Women would no longer feel the "biological clock" pressure 2. Women could engage in their lives for as long as they wished until they were READY to have a child 3. Women would have complete control over not having to feel they have to settle for some man at the time in their lives before they become infertile 4. Women would not need men to have a babyMen it seems, and religious patriarchal institutions specifically, don't like women to have control over their lives. They like things the way they are, or better yet WERE, when everyone had their specific role and it just so happened women had the role of being subordinate to men. There is no argument against this that wouldn't involve someone imposing their moral values on me, which just is not acceptable. The God argument just doesn't fly with people who do not believe there is a God. Please don't misunderstand me - I like men and I am heterosexual. But I want control over my own life, and that's what the ability to have a healthy cloned baby at any time in my life would do for me!Bring it on!!!!!
