Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: Public Acceptance

Randolfe ( 11/04/2003, 04:44:25 )

I think this story shows that people often react favorably to the "reality" of the very things, they might be frightened of in the abstract. Many people think the idea of "designer babies" is terrible. Yet, if they are offerred the opportunity to make sure their children have special skills, they jump at it. Isn't it interesting that the ghist of the article is that such an accepting attitude on the part of the public is "cause for alarm" and shows there needs to be a "public awareness campaign" to keep people closed-minded.
