http://www.newscientist.com/hottopics/cloning/cloning.jsp http://www.globaltechnoscan.com/Archives/gntc.htmThe current cover story at lef.org by Michael West might give you a little bit of information; there's a more technical writeup in the magazine section of the website under back issues, and there should be two interviews with the same guy. I think one was in 2000 and another was about a year later. Here's the first article: http://www.lef.org/featured-articles/apr2000_clon_02.htmlThe Advanced Cell Technologies people managed to clone cattle who had longer telomeres than normal (as opposed to Dolly the sheep). I think they also cloned a cow, grew the offspring for a while, took blood stem cells from the cloned offspring, and then put them back into the original cow. The younger stem cells supposedly replaced about half the older ones. The aim here would be to give an older animal an immune system as robust as that typically seen only in a younger animal.ACT hasn't released proof of how healthy their cattle are, although they say they are very healthy. Some of their statements might have to be taken with a grain of salt because they are in the business of therapeutic cloning, which they obviously need to promote. If they come up with something really good, they might have to hold back on telling the public about it until it can be patented.
