Illegal Beings: Human Clones

be open minded

if and when cloning is approved of, then wont there have to be a lot of tests on animals and things for the cosmetic surgery that was proposed in this page somewhere? and this will probably cause people to protest and all that crap. i know that animals have already been cloned, but that is a far cry from cloning a human being. the ethical issues that could be discussed on this are very extensive, and even if there are precautions and trial runs, the general public will still think that its just wrong to play god. people are scared that some kind of suffering science-fiction monster will be created. then again, people are always scared of new things. "blame it on the television" "computers are taking our jobs" and other such things. of course this will never change, but instead of jumping the gun straight to human cloning and babies for infertile couples, why not present the publicwith something more palatable, say, the possible cure for cancer idea? if more publicity was given to this and the other geneti disorders that cloning technology may be able to take care of, then it is only a matter of time before somebody gets a grant or loan or something to do the research needed. After all, if, instead of cloning or IVF, infertile couples were to adopt a child or pick one up off the streets, then two birds could be killed with one stone.
