Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: Response

In order to strike a balance with nature, you do have to rise above it sometimes. That is, you have to treat living things with respect even when they might not do the same. You might stay out of a certain creature's habitat, even though you could go in and kill it, and even though the creature would come in and kill you if it could. Nature tries to see to it that only the strong and the lucky survive. Human societies, to some degree or another, try not to imitate nature in that way. Therefore, the idea that nature is good and we are bad is nonsense. It's been perpetuated by various artists, such as the English Romantic poets, who didn't know the first thing about dealing with harsh climates and fierce animals. Why reject Katharine Hepburn's words, and not those of the Romantics? Drinking tea in the Lake District isn't the same as getting your blood sucked by leeches.
