Sodom and Gomorrah, Noah's Flood all took the lives of the innocent along with the wicked.For God-fearing people the message was clear. You had better know what goes on in your neighbor's bedroom because God will make you pay the price for whatever it is.If you have that kind of religious worldview then of course privacy or individual rights dare not be allowed. Your very life is at stake if someone else sins!Whenever there is apocalyptic fear expressed at the thought of cloning, particularly if it outlandish and irrational, then suspect the underlying reason is the fear of a vengeful God. Even with people who do not consciously invoke God or christianity, they may be accepting the millenium-long cultural values of the West that have been steeped in the fears of the Old Testament God.
