Organ Transplantstaicohan ( 11/24/2003, 09:54:42 )I am an International Organ Transplant Coordinator. I send people who are in need of transplants to countries that adhere to presumed consent policies where there is little or no waiting for healthy, legal transplants. I have been doing this for some 12 years. The U.S. Government has been trying to shut us down since we began saving lives through our service. Now that we are also involved in human cloning and gene therapies, the same pressures continue . It is really just a few people with their own agendas who have links with those in power who are able to dictate and stop such forward moving wonders.People are afraid of change, want to stay comfortable, and will not participate unless the topic affects someone close to them. Locating people in power who are affected by old notions that result in health problems for those dear to them has been an effective way for us to get our message out into the world. If enough of us got together we could bring change. Is there anyone else out there who is willing to step through the doorway?J.
