There have been many attempts to make it illegal, but they all have failed to get enough votes to pass.The big hurtle with stem cells is science, not the law. We are just now learning how to use stem cells. The technique is not readily available for humans.The one type of stem cell therapy that is available, although it is still classified as experiemental is stem cells transplants from blood harvested with the umbillical cords of newborns.
