Re: Choosing to liveSC ( 11/18/2003, 13:45:09 )Thanks for the prayers, JK. I don't know if there's such a thing as a truly non-religious person when it comes to discussing cloning. People may describe themselves as religious or non-religious, but I think the questions surrounding cloning tend to make people more religiously conscious, one way or another. People are going to make religious references when discussing the questions, not necessarily because they are evil or hypocrites, but because the question of whether one wants to be reborn is in many ways a religious one. There's also the "I resemble that remark" syndrome; people can be most irritated by those who are like them or even those who agree with them in many ways. They might be put off Christians and the Bible because of some historical atrocity or some religious person they disliked, even though their basic philosophies have Christian elements.I do think about whether I'm religious or not, but the answer varies with the way I interpret the definition of what constitutes a religious person. ![]() This Message is being posted for educational purposes, as well as for comment and criticism, by the visitors to the HumanCloning.org Foundation website (www.HumanCloning.org ).
