People need no justification to existlibfemme ( 12/04/2003, 05:02:55 )On point 2 I'm not sure what aspect you are trying to talk about. If a clone exists does it have the same rights as other people? Yes, of course it does. One's location during one's conception has no influence over one's rights as a human being.People can be conceived out of wedlock. That doesn't deny them their rights as human beings. People can be concieved by invitro fertilization. That has no impact on whether they are treated as human beings or not. Therefore, there would be no difference in the human rights that belong to a person who was cloned than for any other human being. More to the point, how would you ever know after the fact? There are 60 million identical twins in the world now. When you meet a person for the first time on the street can you automatically "tell" they have an identical twin somewhere else? How would it even be possible to discriminate or deny basic human rights to a clone, particularly when they are an adult? It would be unworkable. Nothing about them would tell you they were clone. You could only know if you had DNA samples from the two individuals, but how is that going to happen in day to day life? Do you ask people you sit next to in class for a copy of their DNA before you deside on how to treat them? It is impractical to try to discriminate against a "clone". It is meaningless. If you want an article that discusses the rights of parents to have children by any means at their disposal try the link below to a CNN article. There is no necessity to justifiy your existence to anyone else. People are their own justification. Parents do not have to justify their desire to reproduce and have children. Fertile couples never consult "society" or the law before deciding to start a family. It is not necessary for infertile couples to do so either. ![]() This Message is being posted for educational purposes, as well as for comment and criticism, by the visitors to the HumanCloning.org Foundation website (www.HumanCloning.org ).
