Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Stem cell research or therapuetic cloning is still in the early stages. While it may be possible in the future to grow an entire organ, such as a heart or liver, outside of a body and then transplant it there are still a number of difficulties in doing it that wayScientists have been more successful in regenerating tissue while still attached to the body. for instance, stem cells have been started in the lab and then transplanted while still microscopic into a damaged or diseased site. The stem cells then take over and start to repair the damage. Stem cells have been induced to regenerate nerve endings for instance, such as spinal cords, in mice. Human trials may start soon, probably outside the United States.Stem cells taken from umbillical cord blood have been successfully induced to regenerating bone marrow in another person. It may be possible soon to induce existing bone to start to grow again, eventually regenerating the bone of a lost limb. But as several organ systems are involved in replacing an entire limb it may take a bit of coordination at first to get it started. However, the time will come. Several species of animals, such as salamanders, can naturally regenerate severed limbs such as tails. This suggest that regenerating a limb is not impossible. It is a matter of time before scientists put it all together. I would expect to see it easily within 10 to 20 years, certainly within your lifetime.
