Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Liberal-Conservative Coalition against cloning breaking up

libfemme ( 01/13/2004, 02:59:01 )

Democractic challenger Howard Dean has criticized the US government position, denying federal funds for research into human stem cells. Dean says that Bush's decision was based on religious ideas and therefore is mixing religion with secular government. "I think we ought to make scientific decisions, not theological and theoretical decisions," Dean told voters at a town-hall meeting. "I think that what the president did on stem-cell research was based on his religious beliefs and I think that is wrong." On Friday, Dean said it's wrong to use religion on the stem-cell issue because it deprives people from their ability to recover from serious illnesses. It seems that cloning will become an issue in the US presidential election.
