Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: Questions With Cloning

leilablu ( 01/22/2004, 21:28:34 )

I am not an expert on cloning, in fact im not an expert in any field. I am just a high school student who has become aware of the "scary" reality that is clonning. Your previous statement "it would also be nice if say every 100 years we could be recloned with our own minds intact, wouldn't it be neat to live say 5,000 years or more?", terrifying. I just don't find it very natural at all. I don't believe that people can emotionally handle living that long. Even as you said "humans once lived to be 900-1000 year old, it is written!", it isn't proven, I doubt we can trust something written that long ago. And even if people did live to be that long, I believe that us as people now can not deal with living that long emotionally. Although I suppose it's all relative right? I myself am torn, one could argue that this is the natural process, if it wasn't why would we be able to do this? Please excuse my randomness.Leila(p.s none of my views are religously influenced)
