Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Shakespeare II would still be writing

libfemme ( 01/27/2004, 01:14:33 )

We have clones among us already. They are called identical twins. Studies of twins raised apart show a striking similiarity in career choices. There are some things that are environmentally determined and the brain is both shaped by genes and by environment. You are correct therefore that a clone of Shakespeare would have a different mind, but career inclination would probably not be among the things that were different. He of course would write in modern English but he would probably have about the same sense of humor. Einstein's clone would probably become a mathematician again. The interesting thing would be to find out if his clone would make progress on Einstein's original work, that is come up with some new theory to further understand the cosmos or would he be unable to go beyond what Einstein had already set out and instead become a gifted but immitative math professor?
