libfemme ( 02/03/2004, 23:17:23 )Are you aware that "you" are cloning right now? It is called Mitosis and it is how your body repairs itself. When you cut yourself your body "clones" new skin cells from existing cells. Every day your body "clones" new blood cells from precursor cells. When ever you have a new experience or learn something your body clones new brain cells in your hypocampus. Cloning means to make an exact genetic replica. It refers to replicating DNA, or an entire cell, or an individual organism that develops from that cell. It is a very general term. Every person 'clones' their own cells everyday naturally inside their body. So if you wanted to stop cloning, you would have to stop yourself from repairing and growing. In essense that is what old age and death is, when people stop "cloning" new cells.
