Illegal Beings: Human Clones

look at it this way

jlyn ( 02/20/2004, 01:34:40 )

picture this: a man and his wife live for many happy years together, making many memories and having many great experiences. But one tragic day, the man's wife dies. Heartbroken, he wishes (as all who lose loved ones do) that his wife was still here. Since he lives in the near future, it is possible to clone his wife. So he does this, living with his wife's clone for the rest of his days. Now it doesn't matter to him that his real wife died; neither do the memories matter. Her clone, the mockery of the life that held the true value, has taken her place, making her life meaningless. How would you feel if a clone was made of you? Would you be forgotten? What if the clone was superior or outdid your accomplishments? I know I wouldn't be able to accept this. (Just something to think about)
