Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Could someone help settle debate?

Newbie ( 01/04/2004, 07:05:57 )

An aquaitance and I are in disagreement here. Person A says that HUMAN adult DNA cloning consists of (in laymen's terms) removing the 23 chromosomes from an egg, removing the 46 chromosomes from the donor cell, and putting the 46 chromosomes into the egg. This is alledgedly in stark contrast to sexual reproduction in which the 23 chromosomes in the egg are combined with the 23 chromosomes in the sperm, making a combined total of 46. Person B says that this is entirely wrong. They contend that the process consists of removing the nucleus from the egg, removing the nucleus from a blood cell of a donor, inserting the nucleus of the blood cell into the egg, and introducing an electrical spark. Person A says that Person B is saying "roughly the same thing with different keywords". Person B disagrees. Which person, if either, is correct?
