Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: The supermodel problem

SC ( 02/12/2004, 20:53:40 )

First, I don't see how this is a cloning question. People generally want to raise their own children, not someone else's. They would be more interested in changing their looks than cloning a supermodel to raise. The supermodel look is of value only because it is relatively rare. Assuming people had access to means of controlling how they or their children looked, the more people looked like supermodels, the less value we would place on that look. If we could change our body types or faces easily, they would probably be more like clothes, subject to changes in fashion.
