Exact DNAlibfemme ( 03/14/2004, 06:59:02 )Identicial twins should have the exact DNA. Just as every cell of your body should have the exact DNA as any other cell. Identitical twins occur when two or more cells an embryo split from each other and each develops into a complete individual in parallel. However, everytime mitosis takes place the possiblity for errors in duplication occur so its possible that some genes could mutate anytime there after. Cancer occurs because genes mutate. consequently you could say that any one who developed cancer in their 60's no longer had cells identical to the ones they started out with. I use that only as an illustration that identitical twins could have genes or introns that were no longer identitical in every respect as the years went by.Environmental factors influence gene expression. Identitical twins can usually be told apart. One is usually taller than the other. Fingerprints are different. Experiences and personality can differ. They are far more alike than singleton sibling but there are no completely identitical in nature particularly as time passes since they were once together. ![]() This Message is being posted for educational purposes, as well as for comment and criticism, by the visitors to the HumanCloning.org Foundation website (www.HumanCloning.org ).
