Illegal Beings: Human Clones

PASS THE TISSUES

john the angry man ( 03/22/2004, 07:44:01 )

I guess this will be the last time I come here. I keep forgettng about it and i'm not really learning any more from it. My opinion on cloning now is that yes, cloning has benefits, like curing diseases like cancer, but i'm near-disgusted by these people that want to live for ever. Why can't they let go? Maybe because most of these people don't follow a religion and don't want to die because they don't believe in an afterlife. Sure, I'm not going to kill myself but when I'm old I wil hopefully have experienced life and I won't think it's over because I believe I can go to heaven. I know I sound like a hypocrite saying that cloning is good for curing illness then saying people should die, but cloning won't heal all disease and it isn't much fun being very old anyway. I'm not for parents who have lost their children to clone them, but that's their choice. Again, I think they should let go, get on with their life. How would the cloned child feel, to be a replacement for their dead brother/father anyway? On the overpopulation thing, cloning shouldn't make an impact on the already growing-too-fast population. We need to do something about it anyway. So there are reasons to use cloning and stemcells, but I still think that we can't do it now. How many clones have actually lived to be healthy animals? A few probably, but far too many have died prematurely or have serious problems. But these sacrifices made will save millions, right? It's ok then, right? Get stuffed. We need to make sure that we have at least the same risk of deformities, etc. We are definitely not ready to do that. We need to assess all this thoroughly and stop these over-ambitious guys like Zavos and the pillock parade that is Cloneaid, from cloning people too soon and for all the wrong reasons.I can't think of any more cloning issues at the moment, so I'll stop there. I want to say goodbye to everyone(sob...). I hope the message board keeps going, and that people who come here learn as much as I did (sob, sob). I know a lot of you would love to see the back of me so at least you will! I hope Erin has a great time on holiday and in general (cheesy I know but it's the only way I can put it)So, the end. The angry man has left the building.BYE!!
