Illegal Beings: Human Clones

What if God was one of us? Common argument from this board used on "Joan of Arcadia."

SC ( 03/14/2004, 09:07:12 )

An exchange from a recent "Joan of Arcadia" episode has God talking about turnover of cells in the body and the difficulty of accepting it:Joan: "It's a black hole of never ending worries and responsibilities!" God: "It's called growing up." Joan: "Well, what if I don't want to?" God: "In the brief time we've been talking here, thousands of your cells in your body have died and renewed themselves. You're changing all the time. That's how you know you're alive." Joan: "It just seems so scary." (Pauses expectantly) "And now here's the part where you reassure me?" God: "It is scary. Fortunately, you're not alone."That's the gist of why people object to cloning as well: fear of responsibility, fear of change, and fear of being alone.
