Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: Support, Against Human cloning

Really? Just what do you mean by a successful clone? Researchers at Advanced Cell Technology in Worcester, Massachusetts examined 24 cloned cows between one and four years old in 2001. These were the survivors of 30 pregnancies, representing a success rate of 80%. This is close to the 84-87% achieved by conventional livestock breeders. The cloned cows passed a battery of tests - on their behaviour, physiology, immune systems and genetic make-up - with flying colours. They were vigorous, healthy and normal. (See link below)A baby usually refers to a human infant. Show me a link to any credible site that claims any human being has been cloned yet. There are a few wild claims but no proof yet, and until it is how can you know what condition a "non-existent" child is in?Deformities are not always the product of cloning either. According to the Center for Disease Control in Georgia there is a 2-4% birth defect among normal, naturally conceived births. (IVF, by the way is around 1.9%)Should we put in jail all mothers who have natural babies with birth defects? After all natural mothers just don't seem to be caring about the risk, it's just another vanity baby to them, right?
