Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: ethical issues of cloning

BunniGirl ( 04/13/2004, 11:16:53 )

I was never 'programmed' of anything but what I see. I have researched human cloning. I did a report on it. Quite frankly, I'm not impressed with the way people play with other peoples lives. Most of these clones will be born with deformalities, and will not live long. But of course, they are subject to research, pretty much against their own will. They have been since they were in their egg cell state. A lot of this money can be put towards medical issues instead of screwing around with little eggs. Trust me, if I ever found I out I was a clone, that my body was not unique and a copy of someone elses, I would fall into a deep depression and might m\commit suicide. Sure, I will be a different person, but to feel like a copy...it is harmful both psychological and physical. Just because I'm young doesn't mean I'm naive. Don't underestimate me. Give me one good reason why we should clone. Especially on humans. We can just reproduce, so it's not a population factor. You can reasearch medical technology without cloning and harming a person who didn't have a chance of life. What is there to prove? That there is no god? That we are god? That we can make humans? Well, we do that through reproduction and many other options. So what is the point? None of these people care about the helpless lifeforms they are harming. It's not like the egg can say "Hey, clone me!" and shame on the mothers for being so naive as to put their children through such trauma. It's worse that the lifeform is helpless. And knowing that more than likely this poor creatrure will end up dying in two to three years due to major deformalities. That's why I am against it. Because I care. I care if people are harmed, especially if it is against their will to participate in some 'scientific breakthrough research'. I would not be against cloning if helpless cells and human beings were not harmed.
