Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Popularity

libfemme ( 04/09/2004, 19:19:03 )

I still haven't figured out how cloning makes someone "popular". From what I see, there is a rabid, hysterical and completely irrational opposition among a certain ignorant sector of the public that vilifies others who want to clone human cells, cure birth defects, cancer and infertility. Of course I can see how offering people a cure for Parkinson's, diabetes, spinal cord injuries, cancer and heart disease will make the lucky researcher who discovers it very popular. Sort of like how Jonas Salk was "popular" for finding a vaccine for polio or Alexander Fleming was "popular" for discovering pencillin, the selfish bastards!
