Congress funds embryonic research
libfemme ( 04/30/2004, 02:25:51 )There is now a majority in the US Congress in support of allowing federal funds to be used in embryonic stem-cell research.206 members of the House of Representatives signed a letter asking Bush to expand his August 2001 executive order which limited the stem cell lines the federal government would support. This letter has nothing to do with private research which has always been unrestricted but it shows that the Universities, government and business leaders recognize the huge impact of therapuetic cloning is going to have. It also weaken sthe Bush administration's campaign to get the UN to ban cloning, if the US government is funding it!
