As Reagan was the idol of the religious right at one time this promises to split the conservative movement in the US over the issue of research on embryonic cells.Mrs Reagan apparently will deliver a speech on the subject at a Beverley Hills fundraiser sponsored by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation this weekend.206 members of Congress, including almost 40 opponents of abortion, have signed a letter urging Federal funding of researach using surplus embryos at in vitro fertilisation clinics.
