john l bachert ( 05/18/2004, 08:20:29 )we are individual as persons, we inherit some of our ancestors genetics but our intelligense levels increase with each generation, thus becoming more refined than the previous. some of us hope that someday our individual minds(brains) can be tranfered intact to a new cloned body, thus maintaining our individuality, live as long as we wish to, that is what is refered to as our soul, the person we are, religious beliefs have us believe our soul is spiritual and leaves our body when the body dies, there is not absolute proof of this, so you are right in essense. some of us may be lucky enough to be reborn through our children someday eons from now as have possibly down before, but who really knows for sure.
