:*) ( 05/09/2004, 15:36:15 )yes. we, as in 'we' being humans, are selfish. i don't believe in world peace because it is unattainable. The human heart is evil and corrupt to the core. I came back to this site after 6 mo. to bash people in it, but now i have found topics that actually matter to me. (human cloning doesn't, but reprocussions of do.) world peace is unattainable. it only takes one man in the world to ruin it, and look at history, there is always that one, or 2, or 3 men in power. I believe in war, not for the death and killing, but for fighting for liberty. right now, many people hate war, however, if it weren't for the U.S. interfering in WWII, any non-White man in the world would be dead, and everyone would be ruled under the iron fist of the NAZI party. Where ever there is liberty and injustice, someone has to step up. Whether you are the playground monitor, the U.S., or a police officer, you are the one responsible. right now the U.S. is the only world super-power, so our indifference to injustice would be a cruel act in itself. if a dictator/tyrranious ruler steps up, we are the only ones big enough to step in and make things right. Diplomatic negotitations first, but (in Iraqs case), after 10 years of ignoring us and continuing killing the little guy, someone who can, has to fight for the freedom and safety of others. Idealistic views are unpractical and will always be brought down by the evil in mankinds' heart.
