Genomelibfemme ( 05/31/2004, 05:52:36 )Each cell in your body has the exact same genes. It takes about 30,000 genes to make a human being. You have all 30,000 of them in your liver cells. Your liver cell only has to use a few of them to be a liver cell. But it has the complete set. The identical 30,000 are also in your brain cells. Any one particular brain cell only switches on the genes it need to make itself a brain cell and leaves the rest turned off. But you have all 30,000 genes including the genes to make that liver cell, inside your brain cell as well. Therefore, if you took one tiny cell from a man's rib, or every single cell in that rib, the only kind of person that would grow from that one cell or whole group of cells, would be an identical to the parent, including identical in sex. Any cell from you, from your nose to your toes has the complete instructions on how to build one human being. But only a very specific human being, including a specific sex. If you clone a man, you should get another man. If you clone a woman you get another woman. ![]() This Message is being posted for educational purposes, as well as for comment and criticism, by the visitors to the HumanCloning.org Foundation website (www.HumanCloning.org ).
