Very likely it will not be publicized in advance because of the legal threats that the President of the United States and other western countries have made.Any nation that has physicans in fertility practice could clone an embryo. That means just about every nation on the planet. There are over 300 fertility clinics in the United States. I doubt, however, that any one will use those facilities because of the threats made by the FDA.It could be in Korea because they have had the best track record of cloning human cells so far. But then again they have denied any permission to clone for reproductive purposes on their soilIt could be in a Moslem nation. They have a strong fertility practice because of cultural imparative to reproduce. And they couldn't care less what the Christians think, particularly the Pope. Could be Iran. They were willing to spearhead the UN opposition to the US promoted global ban on cloning.Could be Argentina, which is more European than other South American countries and has a strong business in cloning animals.It could be on a ship at sea, in international waters to avoid prosecution. Who knows?We may not find out until the political climate chances and bans against reproductive cloning are removed. The cloned child might be 5 or 6 years old by then. And then again, maybe the parents will feel no need to get that kind of publicity regardless.
