It comes into being by the division of the parent cell.Are you aware of the experiments of Urey-Miller, Stanley Fox and others that have created organic chemicals in the lab using conditions similiar to pre-oxygen earth?If you put methane gas, carbon dioxide and ammonia in a self contained flask, along with water and give it jolts of electric sparks in about two weeks you will have two of the 20 amino acids that make up every protein in living matter.Before photosynthesis there was no oxygen in earth's atomsphere.Before green plants evolved, the early Earth's original atmosphere was mostly hydrocarbons from volcanic eruptions i.e methane and carbon dioxide. If you subject those early gases to electrical sparks, like lightening, then amino acids will form automatically.
