Re: Reasons Why Cloning IS EthicalI_KNOW_WHOM_TO_CLONE ( 09/21/2004, 16:56:59 )JUST SOME THOUGHTS (NOTHING SERIOUS!!!):About body parts - that's ethical (no doubt) - you spared a peace of yourself (nothing unethical - like trimming a toe-nail) to help yourself (also nothing unethical... infact very ethical - because others help you too). Someone would say that you killed a kind of a human life form in the process - but that's not true - look at the man who gave genetic material for that embryo - that embryo **IS HIM** (nothing less, nothing more)! Is that man killed? No. There he is. He's alive and well. No harm done. (how many spermatozoids, ovums and embryos go to waste - what is that(?) a mass genocid?! What do you think - how many human embryos is consived and killed down there beyond our feet in the dark realms of the world called canalistion?!)Human fetus (generaly) is not "human being" it is "pre-birth human being" - special laws should be invented for a case of fetus (e.i. "pre-birth human") - defending them from the outside world but also laws that would give an oportunity to scientist to explore legaly - that way it should be ethical (cause a lot of people would decide on it). For example: law that says that only cloned fetuses could be relieved of life which wouldn't be called a murder in traditional sense because the original human being involved is alive and well - therefore not harmed (everything is ethical). ...This, kind of, sounds like philosophy - explaning some new look at the things so it would become standard, inventing (making-up) explanations that didn't exist before, defining some NEW LOOKS at the subjects, creating concepts for people to accept esily (apriori) in the future (although they maybe couldn't get to them on their own) in order to justify principles of their (potential) actions. This question *IS* philosophycal!...About cloning entire human being to live (post-natal human being)... Well... In a sense, post-natal clone (person) is not a "HUMAN BEING"(term) (it is a "COPY OF A HUMAN BEING"(term) - which is different) - put that in a law. Then - what rights should apply to clones(?) - animal rights? - That's not ethical. Let's talk "HUMAN CLONE RIGHTS". Whole bunch of laws should be needed to be defined for clones to protect human clones from humans, and vice versa... One of them must be "clone reproduction ban" (in any way (especially no clone of a clone)), or the law would be broken, which deserves apropriate penalty. Only with those laws the cloning would be ethical - cause we would give clones a well defined place in the world (their purpose of living). Like I said - in a sense they are not human (but - "human clones") they are a propery of the original human (Phisicaly. That's logical, because they are made of his/her genetical material), but have their rights (similar to those for humans) that justify us (real humans) as ethical. Clones must accept their purpose and what they are (clone religion should help them). For them - creator is not "God", but "original human they came from" - that is their Creator. Also original human becomes specialy obligated - having a clone affects him (changes him legaly). Also original human should be responsible for certain cases of actions of his/her clone(s)... ...Or somebody else takes responsibility and becomes obligated...ETC. ![]() This Message is being posted for educational purposes, as well as for comment and criticism, by the visitors to the HumanCloning.org Foundation website (www.HumanCloning.org ).
