Illegal Beings: Human Clones

France bans human cloning

SC ( 07/10/2004, 15:51:31 )

In some countries, public opposition to cloning seems to be decreasing, but legislative opposition is increasing. In France, the penalty for trying to save or start a life is probably more severe than the penalty for murder now:http://tvnz.co.nz/view/news_world_story_skin/435312%3fformat=htmlThere seem to be some similarities between France and Canada, in which governments will defend a woman's "right to choose" when she wants to terminate a pregnancy, but not when she wants to start one:http://www.cbctrust.com/RU486.96.htmlMaybe the French want to see the abortion pill become more widely adopted because it was developed in France, and are trying to discourage cloning and stem cell research because they are behind in that field?
