Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Re: getting in contact

We wouldn't need this website if the media were doing their jobs properly. Most media companies are very conservative and lag behind changes in public opinion; they won't come out and take a stand on an issue until it's safe to do so. Recently, more journalists have been making statements in favour of stem cell research, but only after it's already gotten approval ratings of 70% or more in the polls. The way the BBC commentator was handling the issue looked the same as the way any other journalist would handle it. I could have made the same reply to a journalist who made much the same sort of posting recently, and maybe I still should. In that way, I suppose I am criticizing the BBC, because they are capable of doing better and I expect more from them. Its journalists ought to be able to make an articulate case for cloning on their own.I think that what Britain has done to promote cloning and stem cell research will do far more to save lives and defend human liberty than what we have traditionally called its "finest hour." Why aren't you proud of the courage and imagination displayed by your scientists and political leaders, and why don't you defend what they have done to make therapeutic cloning possible, as readily as you would defend the works of Douglas Adams?
